On resilience: stories of strength and hope from the AL amyloidosis community
At Prothena, we feel incredibly grateful to be able to hear firsthand from patients and their caregivers, and to share their wisdom with others. These stories fuel our work each and every day, and continue to remind us of the power of connection and comradery. We know that patients and caregivers often find hope in the words of those who have walked similar paths. By shining a light on their real, lived experiences, we aim to inspire the entire amyloidosis community, helping them to learn and find hope.
Last year, we heard firsthand from Linda, living with amyloidosis. She offered advice for others facing the disease, from learning everything you can to serving others and choosing to thrive through hard times. We also heard from Donna (caregiver to her husband, Mike) about the long road to diagnosis and the challenge of piecing all of the symptoms together.
Today, we’re honored to share more words of wisdom from Linda, Donna and Mike, focusing on the importance of having hope. Watch the video below to learn why Linda calls her journey a blessing, and how Donna and Mike try to make the best of their circumstances.
